Terms & Conditions

  • PAYMENT

A 50% deposit is required to book your slot in my work schedule. Once your portrait is complete, you will be emailed a photograph of your portrait to approve. Once I have received approval, the final balance will be due. The portrait will be dispatched once final payment has cleared.

Payment can be made via BACs, Paypal, Stripe or Credit Card.

    7-DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

I provide a 7-day money back guarantee for pet portrait bookings, from the date you pay your 50% deposit. During this 7-day cooling off period, you may request to cancel your booking, and receive a full refund.

    REFUNDS

If you wish to cancel your pet portrait booking after the 7-day cooling off period, you will forfeit the 50% deposit you have paid.

    DEPOSIT PAYMENT

Once you have paid your 50% deposit to secure a slot in my schedule, you will need to provide me with photos of your pet, and approve the main reference photo you’d like me to use. If a decision has not been agreed on the main reference photo by the date of your mutually agreed slot, then your booking will be put to the back of my waiting list which may be several months long. If more than 12 months pass between the date of your deposit payment, and your approval of the main reference photo, then the final cost of your portrait will be subject to my current price list at that time. This may mean that the final cost of your portrait is more than when you originally placed your booking.

    TIME SCALE

When you book your pet portrait with me, I will advise you of an estimated date of completion. If due to any unforeseen circumstances (for example injury or illness) I am unable to meet these timescales, then I can offer you a full refund.

I will always keep in close contact with you throughout the creation process of your portrait so that you are kept up to date.

    CHANGES TO A FINAL DRAWING

Once your portrait is complete, you will receive an email with a good quality watermarked photograph of your artwork for your approval. If there are any minor tweaks you wish to make, this is the time to request them. These will be done at no extra cost.

If you wish to make changes that are significantly different from the original order, then this may incur an extra cost. Please be aware that due to the nature of pastels, it’s not always possible to make major changes to a portrait once completed.

Once you have approved your portrait, no further amendments will be made.

  • PAYMENT

Payment for prints must be paid for in full at the time of ordering. Payment can be made via BACs, Paypal, Stripe, or Credit Card.

Please allow up to 14 days for processing and shipping to the UK from the order date as prints are produced on demand.

    REFUNDS

If you wish to cancel your print order, you must get in contact immediately. If your order has already been sent to the printers, it will not be possible to cancel your order, and no refund will be issued. If your order has not yet been sent to the printers, then you will receive a refund minus £15 to cover my administration costs.

    SHIPPING

Prints are either sent flat or rolled in protective, acid-free glassine paper or tissue paper, complete with a certificate of authenticity and care guide, and shipped in a reinforced postal tube or triangular postal tube. If the print is a limited edition, a certificate of authenticity will be included.

If collected locally, small prints are instead protected with mount or foam board, a sheet of glassine paper then put into a fortified envelope or box.

All Packages require a signature upon delivery.

  • A gift voucher entitles the recipient to a hand drawn pastel portrait of their pet according to the size quoted on the voucher. The size can be converted to a square portrait if desired.

The gift voucher does not include a mount or framing.

Gift voucher purchases are covered by a 7-day money back guarantee from the date you purchase your voucher. During this 7-day cooling off period, you may request to cancel your purchase, and receive a full refund, providing the voucher has not been redeemed during this period.

Gift vouchers are valid for 24 months from the date of purchase. The expiry date is shown on the voucher. The recipient needs to redeem their voucher before the expiry date.

To redeem the gift voucher, the recipient must:-

    1. contact Tricia Findlay Fine Art with their unique voucher code. The voucher code is unique to the recipient, it is their responsibility to not disclose this code to others.

    2. provide Tricia Findlay Fine Art with suitable reference photos of their pet.

    3. mutually agree with Tricia Findlay Fine Art on the main reference photo to be used for the portrait.

Once the recipient redeems their gift voucher, they will be allocated a slot in my schedule. My waiting list varies throughout the year and can be several months long. To find out my current waiting list at the time of purchasing the gift voucher, please contact me.

The recipient needs to be able to provide good quality reference photos of their pet/s. In the event that the recipient is unable to provide photos of good enough quality, I will work with them to reach a resolution which may include a refund.

Gift vouchers are non-refundable except in those circumstances outlined above. Vouchers can be transferred to someone else if the recipient does not want a portrait.

The recipient may upgrade their pet portrait to a larger size if they wish, and pay the difference in price. Please ask for this when redeeming the gift voucher.  The difference in price will be determined from my price list at the time of redeeming the voucher. This can be viewed on my prices page.

The gift voucher cannot be downgraded to a smaller sized portrait once purchased.

  • REFUNDS

If you have purchased an original wildlife art piece, and you are not completely satisfied, you are entitled to a full refund including the initial delivery cost to you. You must request this refund in writing within 7 days of receiving your artwork.

Once you have received a reply from me regarding your refund request, you must return the artwork immediately, in the same condition in which you received it, and at your own cost and risk. Do not send back artwork until you have heard from me, just in case I am away. In this instance, I will advise you when to return the artwork.

I strongly recommend using a 24-hr tracked courier service which includes insurance to match the value of the artwork.

You are legally obliged to take reasonable care of the artwork while it is in your possession. If damage occurs to the artwork whilst in your possession, I may have a right of action against you for compensation.

Once I have received the artwork back from you, and have verified the condition of it, I will process your refund. This may take up to 7 working days.

  • REFUNDS

If you wish to cancel your wildlife print order, you must get in contact immediately. If your order has already been dispatched to you, please contact me first at triciafindlay@mac.com. You will need to return it, in the original packaging, within 14 days of receiving it in order to claim your refund. You will be responsible for ensuring the print arrives in the same condition you received it, and at your own cost and risk. I would suggest you use a tracked service.

Your refund (including the original shipping charge) will be processed as soon as possible, but may take up to 30 days.

    DAMAGE

If your print arrives damaged, please take a photo of both the damaged print and the packaging, and email me at once. You will need to return the damaged print to me in its original packaging at your own cost. Upon receiving the damaged print back in the post, I will send back a replacement at no extra cost.

CARING FOR YOUR FINE ART PRINT

Your wildlife art print will arrive flat packed or in a strong reinforced tube to ensure its safety in transit. If it is the latter carefully remove one of the end caps to open the tube. Your print will be tucked inside, wrapped carefully in acid free tissue paper to protect it. Tilt the tube up to let the print slide out. If it doesn’t slide out of its own accord, give a light tug on the tissue paper.

Once your print is out of the tube, you’ll want to unwrap it from the tissue paper. Make sure you wash your hands before doing this, to avoid marking the print. Also make sure the surface you place the print on is clean. When you unwrap the print, you’ll find that it is sandwiched between two layers of tissue paper. Lay the print down on one of these layers to protect the back of it whilst you view the print. Never touch the surface of the print, as you may mark or scuff the surface. Always lift it by the edges of the paper.

    FLATTENING YOUR PRINT

Unless your print has arrived flat, you’ll need to flatten it before you can frame it. This is very easy to do. With your print lying on one of the sheets of tissue paper provided, unfurl the print and place the remaining sheet of tissue paper over the surface of the image. Now place a few clean heavy objects on top of this to keep the print flat. A few weighty books usually work well for this. Leave the print under the weights for a min. of a couple of hours, overnight works best. This should be sufficient to flatten out the print, ready for framing.

    FRAMING YOUR PRINT

Your print will have a small white border around the image. This means that if you wish, you can frame it without a mount. Personally, I think mounts always add to the presentation and if chosen right can really compliment your piece of art. Not all my prints are standard ‘A’ sizes.

Although shop bought frames should be very easy to come by and are usually quite cheap, I’d always encourage you to visit a local professional framer if you can. The quality of the framing will always exceed what you can buy on the high street, and the framer will ensure that your print is adequately protected to ensure it’s longevity.

    DISPLAYING YOUR FRAMED PRINT

Once your print is framed, you’ll need to decide where to display it. I’d recommend not displaying your print in direct sunlight as strong UV rays can fade the print over time. You’ll also want to avoid displaying it in a very moist environment such as a bathroom or kitchen as this may cause damage to the print. Somewhere such as a living room, bedroom, office or hallway should be ideal. If you’re displaying your print on a wall, you’ll want to hang it roughly at eye level.

If collected locally, small prints are instead protected with mount or foam board, a sheet of glassine paper and then put into a fortified envelope or box.

You are welcome to collect your art in person. Collection is by prior arrangement only. Please contact me beforehand to arrange a date and time.

    FRAMED

If you are local you are welcome to collect in person due to the risk of glass breakage during shipping.

If this is not possible your artwork will arrive securely packaged to minimise the risk of damage during shipping. Please note due to the fragile nature of glass in transit I can not guarantee 100% that it will arrive in perfect condition.

You will be emailed a tracking link so that you can check the progress of your delivery. Delivery times in the UK are between 1 - 7 working days. Delivery times outside the UK vary according to where you are located.

If your artwork is damaged beyond repair then you can either opt for a full refund, or I can draw you a replacement portrait at no extra cost. There may be a wait for the replacement portrait, depending on my waiting list at that time.

    IMPORT TAX AND DUTIES

If you have made your purchase from outside the UK, your delivery may be subject to import tax. These charges will be specific to your country. You are responsible for paying any import tax and duties should they arise. I cannot be held responsible for any additional fees your delivery may incur.
